1863, 24¢ lilac (78), Two singles used with 5¢ brown (76) tied by bold grid cancels on 1864 folded letter sheet to Shanghai, China, paying the 53¢ British Mail rate via Marseilles, red "N. York Am. Pkt. Paid" exchange office c.d.s., Aug 27, with magenta "32" credit and red London Paid transit c.d.s. (Sep 8), "1d" local charge, backstamped Hong Kong (Oct 26); red "Forwarded By/ Cary & Co./ New York" oval on reverse; stamps with minor perf flaws, small sealed tear at bottom, otherwise Very Fine. Rare with the forwarder handstamp.
