1912, 1¢ green, 2¢ carmine Type I, Kansas City roulettes (408-409 var.), first right margin block of four, latter upper left corner margin block of four, rich colors. Fresh neat Omaha Nebraska double oval cancels. Minor rouletting flaws as usual on these. Still Very Fine and quite scarce used.
Estimate 750 - 1,000

Provenance: Natalee Grace

These roulettes were created by the Post Master of Kansas City Missouri in an effort to use up over 50,000 of these 1 and 2 cent imperfs on hand which were originally intended to be used as vending coils and were now basically unsalable. The rouletting was done by simple dressmaker's tracing wheels purchased at a local dry goods shop. Accompanied by an article by Randy Neil giving all the details.
