1851, 1¢ blue, type Ib (5A), position 9R1E. Bright color with large margins except barely touching ball ornaments at bottom, lightened pen cancel. Accompanying certificate mentions "tiny scuffs at top above ‘P’ of ‘POSTAGE’" (nearly invisible). Fresh and otherwise Very Fine. A lovely example of the rare 1¢ type Ib.
