1851, 1¢ blue, type Ib (5A), position 6R1E, mostly large margins all around, part sheet margin at top. Unobtrusive light town postmark leaves the type characteristics quite visible. Couple tiny thins. Choice Very Fine appearance.

Of the 1,000 plate positions that produced the 1¢ imperforates, only six produced type 1b stamps, those being positions 3-6 and 8-9 on the right pane of Plate 1E. Positions 6 and 8 are considered the best examples of the type.
