The seven recorded covers from Wrightsville, Pa. addressed to Henry James in Baltimore date from Apr. to Nov. 1849— four have Baltimore postmarks and are considered overpaid drop usages, the rest have only a manuscript "Way" marking. Mostly likely all these were carried by someone going to Baltimore by rail or stage— the way covers may have been handed to a stage line contractor.
