MacArthur, Douglas (1880-1964), Five Star General, Active in the Pacific Theater During World War II, typed letter signed "Douglas MacArthur", one sheet, 8" x 10½", N.Y. N.Y., April 17, 1962, to Leslie Groves (Director of the Manhattan Project), in part, "The Manhattan Project represented the greatest development of military power since the invention of gunpowder." He continues, "I have always believed the greatest mistake that Eisenhower made was in not putting you in charge of the entire nuclear program of the country." Very Fine, a wonderful and insightful letter between two very important generals.
