German Area, German States Collection, a powerful specialized collection mounted in 21 volumes, hundreds of mostly used stamps including a wealth of cancels including numerals and towns for many of the issues, color varieties, numerous multiples scattered throughout, at least a couple hundred stampless letter sheets, covers many with multiple frankings, stationery including entires and postal cards, etc., some small flaws, but attractive and condition is better than normally found. A fantastic lot with rare frankings and cancels throughout.

F13467 block of 30 with positions 17-18/27-28 being perf 10 between and post 19/29 having transitional gauge 10/11 between, centering varies with position 17/27 being Very Fine and 18-19/28/29 being just Fine, full pristine original gum with the block being hinged in the selvage only. A post office fresh, Very Fine and unique block.

1851, 1¢ blue, type II (7), spectacular mint single with absolutely enormous margins showing large portions of adjacent stamps on three sides and a partial sheet margin on the fourth, bright fresh color and paper, a strong impression allowing all of the intricacies of the design to show clearly, full, fresh, lightly hinged original gum. A truly Superb gem. SMQ $9,700 for 98, unpriced in Gem 100.
