1870, 3¢ green (147), central strike bright orange "paint" fancy circular cancellation of Washington, Vt., fresh and Fine to Very Fine. An exceedingly rare cancellation with only three being recorded (one on cover); believed to be the only orange cancel known on a 3¢ Bank Note. Orange is not among the colored cancels listed by Scott on this stamp.
