1857 3¢ purplish claret, type II (11A var.), positions 49-50L2L, horizontal pair with enormous margins including interpane margin at right and adjacent stamp at left, just touched at top right, tied on piece by "New Orleans La. Mar 5 1857" c.d.s., an Extremely Fine example of this very scarce and distinctive shade that was produced only in early 1857.
