1869, 3¢ ultramarine (114), well centered with bright color, tied by a choice strike of a circle dotted grid cancellation in red (Skinner-Eno SD-G 55) on small ladies envelope to Washington, Conn., matching "Naugatuck, Ct. Nov 8" c.d.s. adjacent; repaired cover tear, otherwise a Very Fine usage. A scarce cancel, the origin of which was previously unknown.
